The evolution of design in the present landscape calls for simplicity, innovation and sustainability, designs that work now as well in the future. Good design is a concept that encompasses sensibility with a sense of economy and is often inspired by necessity. International Designer Dialogue will focus on the subject of constructing things in present by way of ideas for the next hundreds of years to come. Christopher Thomas Allen
Chris is the remaining founder and director of The Light Surgeons, he established the company with a group of friends while studying Media Design at Portsmouth University. His work crosses a diverse range of different media; from graphic design and photography, short films, music videos and art installations through to performing, producing and curating. Tim Cowie
Tim is a full time creative at The Light Surgeons and has contributed to a wide range of different projects as an editor, animator, sound designer and director since 2004. During this time he has been a major collaborating artist on many of our live AV performances. He also works as an audio visual artist in his own right under the Audio Dependant name. Fons Schiedon
Fons Schiedon (1980) is a dutch artist and filmmaker. He resides in Berlin. He mainly works with moving images of various dimensions and characteristics. As well as paint and other materials. His work has been part of exhibitions in London, Paris, New York, Berlin and Breda. A large exhibition of his work took place early 2011 at the MU institute in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Eric Cruz (London / Tokyo)
Eric Cruz is a Creative Director, Designer, Director, Educator and vagabond. A Wieden+Kennedy lifer, he spent the last decade in its Tokyo and London offices. In Japan, he pursued work that is culturally relevant to his Asian roots, collaborating with brands like Nike, Google, Honda, Aiwa, Kumon and Mori Building. He co-founded W+K Tokyo Lab, W+K’s experimental music label and creative think tank, overseeing its entire visual output from directing music videos to art directing and designing its packaging, online experiences and live events. In the UK, he worked on Nokia and Nestea. His work focuses on the intersection between art and design, moving images and digital narratives, exploring new frontiers in media hybrids. Most recently, +cruz joined Leo Burnett Malaysia as its Executive Creative Director.
Prior to W+K London/Tokyo, he worked at Imaginary Forces LA designing for film and television; Razorfish London where he evangelized about the merging of web and moving media; W+K Portland creating ads for Microsoft Office and Studio Archetype where he started off his career designing websites, packaging and identity systems. He taught Design and Moving Media at Center for Creative Studies in Detroit and Temple University, Tokyo.
Recognition includes the Tokyo ADC Award, Cannes Titanium Lion Nominations for Nike Presto, Cannes Cyber Lion, ADC NY Gold award, the American Illustration prize, ONE Show gold and silver, D+AD, Res, and onedotzero.

Matt Wade (London)
Matt's work examines the relationship between virtual and physical experience.
Matt studied Design, at Goldsmiths and Adaptive Architecture and Computation, at The Bartlett.
On leaving college Matt joined Imagination, where he worked on brand experiences for amongst others: Guinness, Ericsson, Jaguar, Smirnoff, and Mazda. In 2003 the American Institute of Graphic Arts awarded a Gold Medallion to the Mazda LED wall for the Detroit Motor show.
Matt joined Moving Brands in early 2004, where he worked in the role of Design Director, developing Brand Identity projects for Vodafone, Carat, Capgemini, the BBC, the University of the Arts London, and Nokia.
He has given numerous talks at leading academic institutions, and was on the Design faculty at Kent Institute of Art & Design and Goldsmiths College. While at Goldsmiths he wrote a series of Interaction Design workshops for second year BA students.
Notably, in 2006 an interview between Matt and musician Klaus Janek on collaboration featured in the Cybersonica festival at the Science Museum, London. And in 2007 an interview with Karsten Schmidt about the integration of Processing into Moving Brands Studio Practice featured on PingMag in Japan.
Matt founded kin with Kevin Palmer in 2008.

Michael Gibert
Michael is a co-founding associate of Sparch. While still in colleage, he worked for Alsop Rotterdam from 2001 to 2004.
He spent five years working for a number of well-known architects in Tokyo before rejoining the Alsop group. Returning to the company, Michael was made responsible for supervising design and construction documentation work at the Kuala Lumpur office in 2008, where he is based.
Following the renaming of the Asia offices to Sparch in 2009, Michael oversaw the design and completion of One Mont Kiara, a 40.000 sqm retail development, and is currently overseeing the design and delivery of the Starhill Gallery due for completion in 2011.
Michael has also had previous stints at Kisho Kurokawa Architect & Associates, Tokyo (2006–08), and Bliah Architects, Tokyo (2004-06).
